Our sudden increase in numbers (which in itself is great news) unfortunately caused us to become quite short of funds towards
the end of the Winter Season. Luckily, we have just recently received some extremely generous donations which have enabled
us to buy some equipment and accessories which were very much needed. This sponsorship will certainly tidy us over for at
least the next Winter Season.
(1) Lloyds TSB have very kindly donated £250.00 to the Guernsey Tigers. I'm sure the banks get a lot of requests for sponsorship
money, so I'm very grateful that they've considered our Tigers - being a relatively small Club compared to some.
(2) Thanks to the persuasive letter-writing skills and determination of Naomi and Ali (the 2 James's Mums), we have received
a fantastic £500.00 from Deutsche Bank. I'm sure everyone will join me in thanking them for going to the trouble to do this
- as I know that asking for sponsorship money can sometimes be very difficult! The Deutsche Bank would like their sponsorship
money to go towards uniform, so at the beginning of the Winter Season (September 2005) I will be sorting everyone out with
new shirts, as well as tracksuit bottoms and sweatshirts for those who need them.
(3) £1,000.00 has also been donated by Investec - which is absolutely brilliant, and I am most grateful to Angie Bartie
who managed to persuade them to hand this money over to the Tigers. Investec would (understandably) like to have their name
printed somewhere on some Guernsey Tigers uniform or equipment. As we have already promised the logos on shirts and sweatshirts
to Deutsche Bank, we are considering purchasing a uniformed baseball cap which could show their name (In a small font) across
the back. This would mean that those Tigers who like to wear baseball caps indoors and outside, can be provided with one which
is part of the Guernsey Tigers uniform (and therefore acceptable to the main association).
This idea has already been by our fashion-conscious youngsters!!
